Ravi Shankar Mishra, a superb Kathak dancer and tabla player of Kabir Chaura, Varanasi, is shown here with his two sons 10-year-old Abijhit, a dancer, and 12-year-old Aditya, December 2010. These boys made enormous progress during the three years that I worked with them. Ravi Shankar represents an illustrious lineage, having learnt tabla from his father Panchu Maharaj and dance from Alekananda Devi, the elder didter of Sitara Devi. Mata Prasad Mishra is his cousin.
