Mata Prasad Mishra

Mata Prasad Mishra is an outstanding Kathak dancer and tabla player of Chaitganj, Varanasi. He learned dance from Alakananda Devi and tabla from Panchu Maharaj. His son Rudra (12 in 2011) has been dancing since he was a year and a half old. His brother Pritam (10 in 2011) is a promising tabla player and also plays Western drumkit. Both boys sing and are competent at calling the bols for dance performances. Mata Prasad often performs as a duo with his cousin Ravi Shankar Mishra.
